WATERLOO - Colleen Hermann, 87, of Waterloo, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village.

She was born July 27, 1927, in Waterloo, daughter of Roy and Marie Spaulding O'Haran. She married Charles R. Hermann on July 11, 1948, in Waterloo. He died April 19, 1996.

Colleen graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1945. She attended Gates Business College and Allen School of Nursing. She was a secretary for the Waterloo Community School District for many years, both at Francis Grout Elementary and retired from McKinstry Elementary.

Survived by three daughters, Sharon (Craig Guyer) Hermann of Auburn, Ala., Barbara (Larry) Larsen of Woodland Park, Colo., and Patricia (Emanuel Krakauer) Hermann of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; a son, Richard (Maria Cecilia) of Springfield, Va.; three grandchildren, Andrea Larsen, Miguel (Sarah) Hermann and Ella Krakauer; and a sister, Theresa Messersmith of Fort Collins, Colo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Paul O'Haran

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Friendship Village, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends for an hour before services Saturday in the chapel. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers may be directed to Friendship Village Auxiliary or Cedar Valley Hospice.
