EVANSDALE - Lois J. Loftus, 56, of 309 Morrell Ave., died at home Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, of cancer.

She was born Sept. 24, 1944, in Sterling, Colo., daughter of Gail and Dorothy Pierce McLavey. She married Kenneth P. Loftus on April 8, 1961 in Evansdale.

Mrs. Loftus was employed with Powers Manufacturing for 14 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Mark and Kenneth II, both of Evansdale; a daughter, Lisa Schaufenbuel of Evansdale; eight grandchildren; her mother, Dorothy McLavey of Tripoli; two brothers, Lowell McLavey of Westminster, Colo., and Roger McLavey of Tripoli; and three sisters: Janice Whiteside of Allison, Sharon McLavey Ford of Rossville, Ind., and Janet McLavey of Tripoli.

Preceded in death by her father; a son, Richard J.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service.

A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
