WATERLOO - Karen K. “Mrs P.” Petersen, 67, of Ottawa, Ill., formerly of Waterloo, died at home Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.

She was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Waterloo, daughter of Dale and Norma Bookmeier Grimm. She married Lynn Petersen on Aug. 9, 1969, in Dysart.

Karen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Karla (John) Bellandi of Aurora, Ill., and Amy (Mike) Vigars of Princeton, Ill.; four grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Debra) Grimm of La Porte City; and a sister, Kathyrn Grimm of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: were Sept. 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottawa. Gladfelter Funeral Home, Ottawa, was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Karen was an active participant with the “Tuesday Swim Girls.” She enjoyed sewing and was a quite accomplished seamstress. She dearly loved her family, particularly her grandchildren and watching their various sporting events. She enjoyed watching and cheering for the Chicago Blackhawks.
