Eugene R. Davis, 45, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at his home, 1225 Logan Avenue, of a long illness of carcinoma.

He was born on Dec. 26, 1897, at Mt. Auburn, Ind., the son of Charles one Cleora Davis. He married Elsie Hersch on March 10, 1923, in Waterloo.

Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Cleora, student at North Manchester College, North Manchester, Ind., and Helen Jean and Shirley, both at home; a son. Dean Elroy, at home; brothers, Henry L., Cedar Rapids, Ia,; Mercier. 518 Quincy Street, and Ivan J., Vinton, Ia., and a sister, Miss Lola Davis, who resides at Allen Memorial Hospital, where she is employed.

He was a member of Grace Methodist church. He had farmed north of Waterloo before moving to Waterloo a year ago.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Kearns Garden chapel by Rev. James W. Marlin pastor of Grace Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. W. H. Yoder, pastor of the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Orange Township Cemetery.
