CEDAR FALLS - Marian A. Kocher, 96, of Cedar Falls, formerly of La Porte City, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at North Crest Specialty Care, Waterloo.

She was born July 6, 1918, in Eldora, daughter of John M. and Anna Weiner Nissen. She married Osce D. Myers in November 1937 in Eldora and they later divorced. She married Eugene L. Kocher on June 23, 1945, in La Porte City; he died Aug. 17, 1984.

Marian attended Cottey College, Nevada, Mo., and was employed with the La Porte City State Bank for 26 years, retiring in 1980.

Survived by a daughter, Linda Johnson of Waterloo; two sons, John "Jim" Myers of Waterloo and Kevin Kocher of Austin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, William and Hugo Nissen; a sister, Lydia Strickler; and a son, Dale Myers

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
