WATERLOO - Gary A. Ludolph, 64, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born July 10, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Thomas F. and Alice Simpson Ludolph. He married Margaret Dwyer Burns on Sept. 13, 1989, in Las Vegas.

Gary graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1968 and served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He retired as a maintenance supervisor at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works and later as a Realtor with Oakridge Realtors from 2001-2013.

Survived by his wife; a son, Gary Jr. (Lisa) of Phoenix; two daughters, Angie (Jim) Shindelar of Greenfield and Ami Burns of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, Brady and Jackson Ludolph, Kennedy and Landry Aikey, and Whitney and Dillon Shindelar; two brothers, Tom (Lucy) of Silver Lake, Minn., and Kurt (Heidi) of Evansdale; three sisters, Linda Shirley (Victor Gutierrez) of Waterloo, Lora (Jamie) Hickman of Cedar Falls and Janis (Tony) Fowler of Castle Rock, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Tammy (Mike) Schell of Cedar Falls; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith “Ricky;” and a granddaughter, Olivia Aikey.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Full military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and the Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Iowa SIDS Foundation.
