CEDAR FALLS - Edna A. Hamilton, 100, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 19, 1913, in Tarkio, Mo., daughter of Eli Lester “Jack” and Edna Almeda Foley Yoder, and was raised by her father and stepmother, Florence Craigmile Yoder. She married Elbert W. “Alex” Hamilton on Dec. 21, 1935, at United Presbyterian Church, Tarkio; he died Feb. 3, 1995.

Edna was past president of ISTCA Faculty Dames and Sartori Auxiliary; was treasurer of Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa; and was a member of PEO and the American Association of University Women.

Survived by a daughter, Mary M. “Dargy” Baxter of Cedar Falls; two grandsons, William McCullough and John McCullough; a niece, Emma (George) Borlace; and a nephew, Richard (Karen) Yoder.

Preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother; a daughter, Edna Suzanne McCullough; a brother, Lester (Vivian) Yoder; two sisters, Lena Mae (James P.) McCloy and an infant; and a nephew, Charles Yoder.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to the E. W. Hamilton Scholarship Fund at the University of Northern Iowa.
