Jenkin J. Griffith died Saturday, March 18, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O. Hughes, in New Hartford.

He was born in Somerset County, Pa., Jan. 9, 1822, and was married to Mrs. Emily Hardman, Aug. 20, 1849. He moved to Waterloo in 1864 and resided here until two years ago. Since that time he has been with his children.

At the time of his death he was 77 years 2 months and 8 days old. He was an affectionate husband and kind, loving father, and was loved by all who knew him. At the age of 25 he accepted the Christian faith and has since then been a true follower of the Lord, Jesus.

He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss, three boys and three daughters. W. B. and J. H. Griffith, of this city, and Daniel Hardman, of Letcher, S. D.; Mrs. H. P. Reinoehl, of Chadron, Neb.; Mrs. Mary Hughs, of New Hartford, and Mrs. Lydia Remington, of Marshalltown.

The funeral services were held at the home of his son, J. H. 102 East Tenth street, Sunday afternoon at 3 p. m., conducted by Rev. G. Hall, assisted by Rev. J. Murray, of Cedar Falls. The pall bearers were: W. W. Pierce, S. Baum, ,T. Owens, W. M. Stoner, H. Meyers. F. Gansert.
