Woman Is Dead

A telegram to the Courier and Reporter conveys news of the death of Mrs. Emily E. Nesemeyer, age 86, which occurred at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home In Marshalltown.

Mrs. Nesemeyer was formerly the wife of J. J. Griffith, who died in this city March 7, 1899. She was a resident of Waterloo for forty-nine years prior to her removal to Marshalltown in 1907.

During her residence here Mrs. Nesemeyer was an active member of First Methodist church.

Deceased is survived by these children: J. H. Griffith, residing at 317 Eleventh Street East, Waterloo: Mrs. F. H. Smith, who lives in Chadron, Neb.; D. D. Hardman. Mitchell, S. D., and Mrs. L. A. Remington of Marshalltown. Mr. Nesemeyer is also living.

Mrs. Nesemeyer's maiden name was Emily Fisher. She was born in Somerset County. Pa., March 8, 1828, and was married at an early age to Daniel Hardman. Two children were born to this union, one of whom survives. Her second marriage took place in Pennsylvania and she became the wife of J. J. Griffith. They moved to Waterloo forty-nine years ago and lived here until Mr. Griffith died. The widow was married to Mr. [John) Nesemeyer three years ago last spring.

The body will be brought to Waterloo on the noon train tomorrow and will be conveyed to the Hileman & Gindt Undertaking Parlors. At. 3 o'clock the funeral services will be conducted from the Hileman & Gindt chapel at 617 Mulberry Street.
