Ronda Kaye Christensen, 46, of Jesup, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

She was born April 9, 1963, in Waterloo, daughter of Thomas Edward and Valetta Kaye Chaney Christensen. She graduated from Jesup High School in 1981, then graduated from Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo. She worked for the Department of Correctional Services, Waterloo, as a secretary, and most recently had worked for the Waterloo Courier.

Survived by a daughter, Ashley (Ben) Steinbron of Hazleton; a son, Andrew of Jesup; five grandchildren; her mother of Jesup; her father and stepmother, Thomas and Joyce Christensen of Huttig, Ark.; a brother, Rick (Dale Ann) Christensen of Waterloo; and a sister, Robin (Robert II) Clayton of Independence.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Bible Chapel, 4507 Rownd St., Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
