EVANSDALE - Martin T. O'Donnell, 77, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born June 27, 1931, in Chicago, son of James and Elvira Bannon O'Donnell. He married Patricia Mann, and they were later divorced. He married Norma Conerd on March 3, 1979, in Las Vegas.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. O'Donnell was employed as a pipe fitter with National Auto Sprinklers for 38 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Martin T. and Kenneth of California, and Timothy of Nebraska; two daughters, Catheryne Nelson of California and Theresa Clinch of New York; two stepdaughters, Bridgette (Keneye) Drake of California and Becky Price of Waterloo; and a stepson, Reedy Drake of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (Carole), Jack (Betty) and Patrick, all of Illinois; and a sister, Julie Mierke of Illinois.

Preceded in death by a brother, George; and two sisters, Maggie Welsh and Bernadette Oskrobro.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo and Evansdale Amvets posts 19 & 31. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
