Ilo C. Slatinka, 89, of 113 Main Street in Hudson, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center, of natural causes.

She was born on November 1, 1914 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Ezra and Sarah (Keller) Noe. She graduated with top honors at Cameron High School, in Cameron, MO.

She married Edward F. Slatinka on December 12, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He died on December 11, 1976. She worked for the University of Northern Iowa for 21 years, before retiring in 1980. She was involved in housekeeping in Maucker Union.

Ilo is survived by her two daughters, Jean Slatinka of Hudson, and Gayle Hogan and her husband Bill, of Nebraska City, NE; five grandchildren: Micah Meyer and her husband Brad, of Rockwell, IA: Tracy Wirtz and his wife Kathy, of West Union, IA: Bret Wirtz and his wife Stephanie, of Maynard, IA: Brandi Conrad and her husband Kevin, of Ft. Dodge, IA: and Frank Hogan of Lincoln, NE; 15 great granchildren; and brother-in-law, Leonard Kuzela and his wife Althea, of Marion, IA.

Ilo is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Cleo, Glen, Lloyd, and Harry Noe; and sister, Clara O’Connor.
