Elizabeth Ilene Shaw, 72, of 1738 Glenny Ave. died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born June 21, 1931 in Butler County, Iowa the daughter of William and Minnie (Alberts) Mulder. She graduated from Shell Rock High School in 1949.

Ilene married John M. Shaw October 11, 1986 at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. Ilene was saved by the Grace of God in 1947 while attending Gospel meetings in Parkersburg. She worked as a clerk for various grocery stores in Shell Rock. Upon moving to Waterloo she worked for Dr. Hofreiter and Drs. Davenport, Roudebush, and Edwards retiring in 1987. She gathered with Christians at Western Avenue Gospel Hall. She later joined Walnut Ridge Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Good Samaritan Committee.

Ilene is survived by her husband John, two step daughters Ramona Segebarth and her husband John of Sun Prairie, WI and Faith Ericson and her husband Roger of Lansing, IA; two step sons John Mark Shaw and his wife Jane of Mira Loma, CA and Brent Shaw and his wife Cathy of Smithville, MO. She is also survived by 14 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren; two sisters Bernice DeGroote and her husband Harlan of Parkersburg, IA and DeAnne Mester of Parkersburg; a brother Arthur Mulder and his wife Darlene of Grundy Center; seven nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.
