EVANSDALE - Kathryn A. “Kathy” Frickson, 62, of Evansdale, died at home Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.

She was born April 29, 1952, in Cedar Falls, daughter of John and Joyce Immerzeel Kloster. She married Richard Frickson on July 9, 1976, in Evansdale.

Kathy worked as a paraeducator at River Hills School for more than 30 years.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Michael (Tina) of Lacey, Wash., and Richard L. (Sheena) of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Kina Frickson; her mother of Waverly; two sisters, Marsha Robbins of Cedar Falls and Lea (Jeff) Whitney of Georgetown, Del.; three brothers, Mark (Marge) Kloster of Waverly, Doug (Deb) Kloster of Waterloo and Dan (Jean) Kloster of Cedar Falls; and a half sister, Erin (Dustin) McCully of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

Kathy was a devoted wife and mother. She loved family, friends, working at River Hills, being a bus associate, playing Bingo at AMVETS in Evansdale, reading, and her dog Sadie. She was a selfless person who touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
