WATERLOO - Donna S. Blum, 53, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center of cancer.

She was born Aug. 17, 1954, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of Robert L. and Madie G. Seratt Blum. She had been married and later divorced.

Ms. Blum graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1972 and received her diploma in stenography from American Institute of Business, Des Moines. In 1992 she graduated from the American Institute of Commerce, Cedar Falls, with a diploma in paralegal. She had been employed with Type House of Iowa, Black Hawk County Clerk of Court and Rosewood Estate, before becoming disabled.

Survived by a daughter, Nina Marie Forcier (Jim Gronen) of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Alyssa Marie and Ethan Hunter, both of Waterloo; her father of Waterloo; three sisters, Marnetta (Ed) Dillavou, Loretta (Tom) Merron and Bobbie Jo (Paul) Penning, all of this area; and a special friend, Eric Schulstadt.

Preceded in death by her mother.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery, preceded by a 10:15 a.m. prayer service at Richardson Funeral Home. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
