CEDAR FALLS - Philip G. Ritchie, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Waterloo, son of Thomas Martin and Carrie Pries Ritchie. He married Zelpha L. Garrison on June 18, 1939. She died Oct. 17, 2002.

Mr. Ritchie was employed with Rath Packing and later with Illinois Central Railroad. He was also self employed as a land surveyor.

Survived by five sons, Fred P. (Peg) and James P. (Barbara), both of Cedar Falls, Ronald T. (Barbara) of Cedar Rapids, Philip "Scott" of Wichita, Kan., and Donald "Don" M. of Georgetown, Texas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Avis Muether of Waterloo; and a brother, Richard of Plymouth, Minn.

Preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Risse; two brothers, Thomas and Robert; and a son, Larry.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 5 p.m. public Masonic service by Martin Lodge No. 428 AF & AM Waterloo.
