FINCHFORD - Thomas J. Meeker, 45, of Finchford, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Grandview Health Care Center, Oelwein.

He was born June 26, 1963, in Waterloo, son of Thomas Ray and Arvilla Ruth Craft Meeker. He married Mary Jane Graeber on Aug. 21, 1982, in Janesville.

Mr. Meeker received his nurse's aide degree from Hawkeye Community College and worked as a nurse's aide and in construction prior to becoming disabled. He was past president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Cedar Falls.

Survived by his wife; two sons, James R. and Thomas W., both of Finchford; his mother, Arvilla R. Meeker of La Porte City; and a brother, Timothy A. (Barb Ellis) of Plainfield.

Preceded in death by his father; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Services: 9:30 a.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Janesville, with burial in West View Cemetery, La Porte City. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
