WATERLOO - Sharon Appleby, 71, of Waterloo, died at Covenant Medical Center Monday, Aug. 25, 2014.

She was born March 2, 1943, in Hudson, daughter of Niels and Axelina Marie Jensen. She married Floyd D. Appleby on April 14, 1973, in Washburn.

Sharon graduated from Hudson High School in 1961, attended Iowa State Teacher's College, and graduated from Gates Business College. She taught guitar lessons at the Music Corner and worked for Hawkeye Sand & Gravel. She worked at K Mart for 24 years and as an aide for Dr. Knox.

Survived by her husband; a brother, George "Irv" (Gisela Weerts) Jensen of Surprise, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Donald and Bernard Jensen, and an infant; and a sister, Frances Jensen.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
