WATERLOO - Jon Robert Shook, 48, of rural Shelbyville, Mo., formerly of Waterloo, died at home April 1 from complications of a stroke.

He was born Nov. 13, 1958, in Hibbing, Minn., son of Lorwin Edward and Genevieve Kennedy Shook. He married Dianna L. Shriver on May 16, 1987, in Waterloo.

Mr. Shook served in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of NCO sergeant. He attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology, where he earned both a truck driving certificate and an associate's degree in graphic arts. He was a freelance artist for Disk Golf Association, the Cedar River Clean Up and Music and Arts Festival.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Chance Shook at home; his mother, Genevieve Kerfoot of Waterloo; three sisters, Kathie Brackin of Waterloo, Susan White of Buckingham and Debra Shook of Decorah; a brother, Michael of Waterloo; and a half sister, Amy Jo Shook.

Memorial services were April 9 in Leonard, Mo. His body was donated to science at Still University, Kirksville, Mo.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 1589 Highway BB or the Exchange Bank, both in Shelbyville, MO 63469.
