WATERLOO -- Kay M. Hoffman, 78, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital.

She was born Nov. 27, 1935, in Waterloo, daughter of William L. and Opal R. Green Ferger. She married Charles R. "Chuck" Hoffman on March 12, 1956, in Waterloo. He died Aug. 8, 2007.

She was employed as a secretary at Rath Packing Co. and then was a medical transcriptionist with Dr. Au-Yeung and later with Covenant Medical Center.

Survived by four daughters, Juli (George) Huber of Johnston, Lisa (Scot) Drape of Waverly, Jan (Lyle) Pratt and Leann Hoffman, both of Waterloo; and four grandchildren, Jamie Drape, Staci Drape, Jared Pratt and Jacob Pratt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 pm Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
