LA PORTE CITY - Karen Sue Wellner, 56, of La Porte City, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 8, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of John and Bonnie Long Freeman. She married Mike Jump in 1978 in Cedar Rapids and they later divorced. She married Don Timmons in 1983 in Cedar Rapids and they later divorced. She married Randy Wellner at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, in 1989.

Karen graduated from LaSalle High School, and received her computer programming degree from Kirkwood College, both in Cedar Rapids. She was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Mike (Laura) Jump of Waterloo, Dustin (Nikki) Timmons of La Porte City and Brandon (Brooke Trimble) Wellner of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Amanda (Josh Newton) Wellner of La Porte City; six grandchildren, Austin, Hayley and Kylie Hart, Abel Timmons, Liam Jump and Addison Newton; her father of Inman, S.C.; and a sister, Sharon (Bruce) Fainley of Inman.

Preceded in death by her mother.

Celebration of Life gathering: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at La Porte City Funeral Home, with inurnment in West View Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to her family.

Karen enjoyed making crafts, cooking, watching Ghost Adventures, fishing and the outdoors. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.
