WATERLOO - Stella L. Bluhm, 88, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Wadena, Minn., daughter of Harry and Nellie Wheeler Carnes. She married Gerald Bluhm on April 8, 1939, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mrs. Bluhm worked in the cafeteria at Logan Junior High for 14 years, retiring in 1979.

Survived by her husband; a son, Dennis (Beverly) of Stephens City, Va.; two brothers, Tom Carnes of Traverse City, Mich., and Orville (Monica) Carnes of Sacramento, Calif.; and a grandchild.

Preceded in death by a grandson; a brother, Edwin Carnes; and two sisters, Nina Lehman and Alice Bluhm.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
