WATERLOO - Robert John "Bob" Pfeifer, 82, of Park Rapids, Minn., formerly of Waterloo, died Aug. 5, 2014, at Essential Health Medical Center, Fargo, N.D.

He was born on Oct. 31, 1931, in Waterloo, son of George and Anna Wieting Pfeifer. He married Teresa Beck; she died in September 2004. He then married Kareen Harer in June 2007.

Bob graduated from St. Mary's of Mount Carmel School. He farmed with his father near La Porte City and also worked as an auto mechanic at Tate Cadillac and Oldsmobile. The couple later purchased a resort at Detroit Lakes, Minn. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, Waterloo, and then was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Two Inlets, Minn.

Survived by his wife, two sons, Michael (Pam) of Park Rapids and Duane (Susie) of Machesney Park, Ill.; two daughters, Danaya Pfeifer of Portland, Ore., and Sharon McCarville of The Colony, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Chris Pfeifer of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Genevieve (Gerald) Rhodes of Leesburg, Va.

Preceded in death by a son, Ken; infant twin daughters, Diane and Louann; a granddaughter; a brother, George; and a sister, Jeanette Hansen.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
