WATERLOO - Ramona Josephine Burke Wardlow, 76, of Waterloo, died at home Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 of natural causes.

She was born April 23, 1930, in Waukon, daughter of Thomas Joseph and Lucille Genevieve Kingsley Burke. She married James Michael Wardlow on Aug. 22, 1953, in Hanover Township, rural Waukon.

Mrs. Wardlow was a graduate of Mount Mercy College. She was employed in Radiologic Technology at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, with Allen Hospital and Dr. Bernard Diamond, both in Waterloo, and Rohlf Clinic in Waverly.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Thomas (Susan) of Newton, Michael (Sarita) of Minnetonka, Minn., Patrick (Renee) of Waterloo, James (Adriana) of Boyton Beach, Fla., and William of Milwaukee, Wis.; three daughters, Ellen Benson of Crystal Lake, Ill., Cathy (Greg) Slick of La Porte City and Maureen Wardlow of Waterloo; grandchildren, Josh and Dan Slick, Alex and Jessica Benson, Amber (Mark) Ridder, John, Brandy, Christopher, Sarah, Kyle, David, Rebecca, Liz and Erin Wardlow; two brothers, Bill (Mary Kay) Burke of Madison, Wis., and her twin, Ray (Mary Ann) Burke of Waukon; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Burke of Menominee Falls, Wis.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Thomas Burke; and two sisters, Mildred (Kenneth) Hall, and Mary Burke in infancy.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Queen of Peace Community Meals Program.
