Former Resident of Ackley,
Died at Waterloo

Sunday morning's Waterloo Courier contained mention of the death of Mrs. J. H. Dahn, a former resident of Ackley. A , brief sketch is appended:

Mrs. Kate M. Dahn, 88, for the past 33 years a resident of Waterloo, died at 4:20 p. m. Friday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Durchenwald, Martin Road, of complications incident to old age.

Born Kate Sasse, March 11, 1862, near Muscatine, la., she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Sasse. She was married to Julius H. Dahn at Dysart, Ia., Sept. 15, 1881. They had resided in Ackley, Iowa, from 1896 until 1907, when they came to Waterloo.

Surviving are the daughter; a sister, Miss Elizabeth Sasse, Estherville, Ia.; two grandchildren, Don Durchenwald, Martin Road, and Mrs. Dorothy DuShane, Ansborough Avenue; a great-grandchild, Barbara Jo DuShane.

Two daughters and her husband are dead.
