EVANSDALE - Diane C. Borwig, 71, of Evansdale, died at home Friday, Aug. 1, 2014.

She was born July 27, 1943, in Waterloo, daughter of Cecil and Frances Delamore Pierce. She married Harry Borwig on Sept. 15, 1962, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Diane was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband; five sons, Scott of Polk City, Todd (Lori) and Chad (Jenny), both of Evansdale, Joel (Glynna) of Aplington, and Marc (Laurie) of Evansdale; a daughter, Wendy (Bruce) Sweeney of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Sandra) Pierce of Elk Run Heights; and five sisters, Judith Schuler, Barbara Van Ee, Marilee (Iran) Niedert and Michele (Willie) Smith, all of Waterloo, and Loretta (Jerry) Adams of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Melvin Schuler; a niece, Katy Marie Adams; and a great-nephew, Tate Smith.

Services: 10 a.m. Requiem Mass Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will take place at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Edward Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary.

Memorials may be directed to AT Foundation or Cedar Valley Hospice.
