WATERLOO - Doris J. Shepard, 70, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born March 6, 1938, in Chicago, daughter of Elmer and Edna Wolsdorf Wrede. She married Earl Shepard on Aug. 2, 1958, in Calmar.

Mrs. Shepard was as a homemaker.

Survived by her husband; a son, Brian (Joan) of Waterloo; a daughter, Jane (Conrad) Hopper of Jesup; three grandchildren, Alex, Ashley and Audrey Shepard; two brothers, Jacque (Shirley) Wrede of Boise, Idaho, and Robert (Darlys) Wrede of Waterloo; and a sister, LaDonna Patterson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Wrede.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family, with a memorial fund to be established at a later date.
