CEDAR FALLS - Maurine A. Carlson, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Clarksville, daughter of Alva and Isadore Shepard Pulis. She married Keith F. Carlson on July 7, 1940, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Maurine graduated from Clarksville High School and was a homemaker until her children were grown. She was then employed as bookkeeper with the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center, retiring in 1986.

Survived by a daughter, Donna M. (Robert A.) Grosse of Cedar Falls; a son, Donald R. of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Shawn M. (Dennis) Vaillant of Ocala, Fla., and Robert “Shane” (Mollie) Grosse of Denver; and three great-grandchildren, Trae Vaillant, Bobbie S. and Robert “BO” Grosse.

Preceded in death by her former husband, Keith; a sister-in-law, Vera Pulis; and a brother, Mark S. Pulis.

Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Clarksville Cemetery, Clarksville. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service.

A special thank you to every person who has had the opportunity to add something or be a part of Maurine’s life while on this planet. No matter where in her journey she was, everyone had the ability to make an impact upon her experience here.
