EDAR FALLS - Howard Edward "Bud" Hall of Longmont, Colo., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend died June 2, 2008, at Longmont United Hospital.

He was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Waverly, son of Howard and Anna Hall. On Dec. 19, 1944, he married Mildred Elizabeth Holt in San Diego.

Mr. Hall served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Heerman. He was a master floor covering mechanic. He worked for Gaertnier's and Peterman and Haes Floor Covering for many years. He owned and operated Bud's Floor Covering in Cedar Falls from 1967 to 1976.

Bud and Millie lived most of their life in Cedar Falls and were members of the First Christian Church for over 50 years. He also was a member of AMVETS Post 49 in Cedar Falls. After the death of their son Jon in 2004, they moved to Longmont to be near their daughter.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Phyllis (Pat) Patrick of Longmont; daughter-in-law, Donna Hall of Cedar Falls; granddaughters, Stephanie (Todd) Eberhardt of Longmont, Monica (Major Lance) Sneed of Spring Lake, N.C., and Jenny Hall of Cedar Falls; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Alexis Eberhardt, and Dylan and Andrew Sneed; and his sister, Millie (Don) Runyan of Robinson, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jon Edward Hall; sister, Lorraine Fox; and parents.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. July 23, 2008, at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Waterloo. Military honors will be provided by AMVETS Post 49 of Cedar Falls. Cremation services handled by Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Longmont. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Christian Church, Cedar Falls, or Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and can be sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO 80501.
