CEDAR FALLS - Donald L. “Don” Heath, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Monmouth, son of Earl and Helen Miller Heath. He married Joanne Bergstrom on Sept. 16, 1951, in Cedar Falls.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1947 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Don's Conoco and later A-1 Vacationland, both in Cedar Falls.

He held many Masonic affiliations including Aron Council, past Illustrious Master; Baldwin Commandry No. 11 past Commander; M.E. Grand High Priest Grand Chapter of Iowa; Eastern Star No. 78 past Patron; Amaranth Royal Patron; El Kahir Cycle Patrol President; and also Cedar Falls Exchange Club Founder, past president and Exchangite of the year; and past president of the Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska district.

Survived by his wife; a son, Greg (Mendee Dixon) of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Lisa (Brian) Vry-Lageschulte of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, Ryan Heath, Erin (Donovan) Laskey, Justin Vry, Chris and Andrew Lageschulte; a great-grandchild, Lena Laskey; a brother, Philip (Alma) of Cedar Falls; and his Border Collie, Rocky.

Preceded in death by a son-in-law, Keith Vry; and granddaughter, Heather Vry.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Prairie Lakes Church, with entombment at Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, where there will be a 7 p.m. public Masonic service. Full military honors will be provided by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.
