WATERLOO - Carol S. Douglass, 93, of St. Robert, Mo., formerly of Friendship Village, died at home Thursday, June 26, 2014.

She was born July 15, 1920, in Waterloo, daughter of Ernest and Ada Parker Sutherland. She married the Rev. Donald E. Douglass on June 15, 1940, at Walnut Street Baptist Church, Waterloo; he preceded her in death.

Carol graduated from Waterloo East High School and attended Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City, N.Y. She was active in Christian work, teaching Sunday School classes, directing Junior Church, was president of a missionary society, worked in Pioneer Girls, AWANA and was church pianist at various churches throughout her life.

Survived by two sons, the Rev. Daniel (Sharon) Douglass of Stryker, Ohio, and David (Jeannie) of Middleburg, Fla.; a daughter, Ruth (Wyndham) Whynot of St. Robert, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: two sisters, Fae Alene Sutherland and Lois “Pauline” Strock; and a grandson, Air Force Master Sgt. Evander Andrews.

Prayer services: 1 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua.
