WATERLOO - Robert "Bob" Pullin, 77, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, June 27, 2014, of respiratory failure.

He was born Sept. 6, 1936, in Cedar Falls, son of Harold R. and Irma J. Rivers Pullin. He married Patricia "Elaine" O'Neill on July 19, 1996, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Bob graduated from Orange Township in 1956 and attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology for welding. He worked as a welder at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He also owned a lawn and tree business from 1995 to 2002. He was a member of AA for 18 years.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Bobby of Willard, Mo., and Dale of La Porte City; two daughters, Dawn (Todd) Hess of La Porte City and Kelli (Luis) Romero of Fremont, Neb.; three stepsons, Bradley Whitmore of Evansdale, Brooks Whitmore of Waterloo and Bryce (Deb) Whitmore of Knoxville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glen (Kay) of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Scott in infancy and Dennis; and three brothers, Max, Roy and Richard.

Per his request, his body has been donated to University of Iowa. No visitation or services are planned. Locke Funeral Home assisted the family.

Memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice, 1825 Logan Ave., Waterloo 50703.

Bob enjoyed helping people and would do anything he could for you.
