CEDAR FALLS - Velma E. Bickner, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 10, 1919, in New Hartford, daughter of Olie and Clara North Klodt. She married Earl G. Bickner Oct. 16, 1937, in Waverly. He died Oct. 5, 1982.

She worked for the Cedar Falls School System in the laundry department for 25 years.

Survived by a son, James (Judy); a daughter, Barbara (Duane) Whitney of Denver; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Ray; and two brothers, Jim and George Klodt.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, New Hartford. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
