WATERLOO - Ronald L. "Ron" Wilkins, 66, of 1108 Oregon St., died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

He was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Webster, son of Donald and Doris Miller Wilkins. He married June Hack on Oct. 2, 1959, in Waterloo.

Mr. Wilkins was a lifelong service station and auto parts specialist, retiring from Advance Auto. He was an active member of Hagerman Baptist Church, serving in many capacities. He also was a foster parent to 55 children over the past 40 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kristi (Bruce) Berghuis of Wellsburg and Stephanie (Brian) Role of Norwalk; three sons, Dean (Lisa) of Jefferson, Tim of Birmingham, Ala., and Sam of Cedar Rapids; three children at home, Katy Mellenberndt, and Shaun and Ebony Cody; five grandchildren, Justin and Cody Berghuis, and Alyson, Connor and Benjamin Wilkins; and a sister, Patty Roberts of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagerman Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the church.
