WATERLOO - Shirley Florence Rasmusson, 71, of Evansdale, died at home Thursday, June 19, 2014, after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 26, 1942, in Lansing, daughter of Walter and Ada Van Brocklin Boltz. She married Clifford Rasmusson on Oct. 3, 1959, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; they later divorced. Shirley married Ronald Gibbons on May 5, 2006; he preceded her in death Oct. 24, 2008.

Shirley worked many years at Petersen and Tietz Greenhouse, later working at Allen Memorial Hospital in housekeeping.

Survived by a son, Scott Rasmusson of Davenport; a daughter, Melody Smith of Evansdale; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim (Linda) Boltz of Mobile, Ala., and Dave (Deb) Boltz of Theodore, Ala.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Boltz; and a sister, Vicki Williams.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial at a later date. Visitation for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial fund is being established.
