WATERLOO - Larry D. Olmstead, 63, of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

He was born Aug. 8, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Kenneth Dean and Helen Louise Straube Olmstead. He married Vicki L. Wood and they were later divorced.

Larry graduated from Waterloo East High School. He worked at John Deere & Co. for 30 years.

Survived by a daughter, Shari (Will) Timm of La Porte City; a son, Kenny (Jenny) of Coralville; six grandchildren, Dillon Olmstead, Bryan, Cybil, Catarina, Lydia and Ethan Timm.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel, preceded by two hours of visitation, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

In his younger years Larry enjoyed the outdoors including bike riding and fishing.
