WATERLOO - Leonard Alan Puetz, 84, of rural Waterloo, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1929, in St. Johns, Mich., son of Donald L. and Elsie Marian Rice Puetz. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Nancy JoAnn Black in St. Johns.

Leonard graduated from St. Johns High School in 1947. He was a farmer in St. Johns, raising crops and livestock. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Johns, and then First United Methodist Church, Jesup.

Survived by his wife; a son, Craig (Kendra) of Waterloo; a daughter, Alice “Allie” (Kevin) Irwin of Chatham, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Neil Douglas and Brian Lee; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, David.

Public visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Jesup, with inurnment at a later date in Michigan. White Funeral Home, Jesup, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice and other charities.
