WATERLOO - Robert L. Delagardelle, 78, of Waterloo, died MonÄday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Jesup, son of Matt and Catherine Federspiel Delagardelle. He married Patricia A. Dunnwald on Sept. 26, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Mr. Delagardelle was employed with Rath Packing Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1984.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick (Patty) of Anamosa and Bob Jr. (Julie) of Waterloo; two daughters, Becky (Bill) Adams and Barb (Bill) Payton, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Andi (Jason) Ehlers of Bondurant, Kim (Josh) King of Kansas City, Kan., Andy Adams of Dallas, Texas, Emily (Dean) Noland, Abby Delagardelle, Brett, Lindsey and Breann Payton, all of Waterloo; two great-grandchildren, Addison Ehlers and Carson King; a brother, Gene (Shirley) of Waterloo; and three sisters, Camella (Arnie) Weber and Eileen (LeRoy) Federspiel, both of Jesup, and Norma (Ray) Lovell of Laurie, Mo.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Tim, Gerald, Roman and Louis; and two sisters, Rita Weber and Valaria Schmitz.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Edwards Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
