Shirley Ann Greene, 69, of Oelwein, died at home Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

She was born Oct. 19, 1944, in Cedar Falls, daughter of John Bruno Sr. and Julia Marie Hugh Weers. She married Timothy Lee Greene on Feb. 16, 1962, in Preston, Minn.; he died Oct. 4, 2010.

Shirley received her education from Cedar Falls schools. She was a homemaker and worked at City Laundry, Oelwein, for 33 years, retiring in 2006.

Survived by a son, Tim (Kathleen Kuennen) of Maynard; two grandsons; a great-grandson; five sisters, Alice (Ron) Billingsley of Independence, Jean Albert of Clarksville, Velda (Roger) Buchholz of Cedar Falls, Bernice (Eugene) Stauffacher of Reinbeck and Helen (Andy) Gissler of Cedar Falls; and a brother, John (Barbara) Weers Jr. of St. George, Kan.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside memorial services: 10 a.m. Monday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein.

A memorial fund has been established in her name and can be sent to Alice Billingsley, 1945 Henley Ave., Independence 50644.
