EVANSDALE - Gerald LeRoy Rieck, 53, of Evansdale, died at home Tuesday, May 27, 2014, of brain cancer.

He was born May 24, 1961, in Waverly, son of Marlowe and Viola Beitz Rieck.

Gerald attended Hudson High School, Hudson, and then graduated from North Iowa Community College (NIACC). He drove trucks for various companies.

Survived by his parents of Elk Run Heights; a brother, Joe (Jill) of Hudson; and a sister, Debborah (Roy) Wilson of Dallas.

Preceded in death by a brother, Michael.

Graveside services: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice.

Gerald enjoy fishing, but his true passion was cutting firewood.
