WATERLOO - Harlan "Curly" Henn, 73, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at his home.

rHe was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Allison, son of Edward E. and Marie A. Stoffregen Henn. He married Joyce Nodurft in 1955, and they were later divorced.

He graduated from Denver High School in 1950 and worked for the U.S. Postal service for 34 years as a letter carrier, then in management, retiring in 1986. Mr. Henn owned and operated Town and Country Heating and Air Conditioning from 1960 to 1982.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the BPO Elks, Masonic Lodge, lifetime member of the D.A.V., past president of the National Association of Letter Carriers, and longtime member of AA.

Survived by a son, Edward W. (Kathi) of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.; a daughter, LaDonna (Jack) Wilson of Waterloo; three granddaughters, Shannon (Jordan) Bartels of Davenport, Fla., Jennifer (Dr. Eric) Shelton of Decorah and Katherine Lynch of Minneapolis; two grandsons, John Lynch of Fort Myers Beach and Scott Lynch of St. Cloud, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Brian and Braydon Bartels, and Alexa, Ellyson, Drake and Avery Shelton; a brother, Arnold (Judy) of New Hampton; and four sisters, Edna (Irv) Youngblut and Virginia (Clarence) Bohlen, both of Waterloo, Esther (Don) Wittenburg of Denver and Donna (Don) Pagel of Sumner.

Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Edward and Richard.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Open Bible, Waterloo. Military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and an open AA meeting at 8 p.m.

A memorial fund will be established.
