Phoebe J. Kyle, 94, of Keosauqua, died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren's hospice in Keosauqua.

A graveside service and interment will be at a later date in Waterloo Cemetery. The body has been cremated.

Memorials to Van Buren Trails may be mailed to the family at 700 Main St., Keosauqua 52565.

Arrangements are in the care of Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Mrs. Kyle was born June 30, 1916, in Waterloo, the daughter of Ralph and Florence Landgraf Eickelberg. She married John C. Kyle Oct. 28, 1939, in Waterloo. He died in an automobile accident in 1971.

Mrs. Kyle graduated from Waterloo East High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. She was a vice president and director of First Federal Savings and Loan in Waterloo. She moved to Keosauqua in 2003 to live with her daughter.

Mrs. Kyle was a member of Trinity Episcopal Parish in Waterloo. She was a charter member of Altrusa Club in Waterloo and was an officer of Altrusa International. She was a past member of Junior League of Waterloo and a lifetime member of Waterloo AMVETS Auxiliary. She served on the Salvation Army board of directors.

Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Drake of Keosauqua; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Spencer of Centerville; and one brother, R. John Eickelberg of Iowa City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dorothy Balster.
