CEDAR FALLS - Coreen M. Mattfeld, 64, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born Jan. 12, 1950, in Estherville, daughter of Merlin "Ike" and Veloris C. Peterson Dotson. She married Marvin R. Mattfeld on Aug. 13, 1977, in Cedar Falls.

She graduated from Humbolt High School in 1968 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1972, with a degree in elementary education. She was vice president of University Book and Supply, retiring in 2007 after 32 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by her husband; a son, Alex (Renee) Montz of Robins; two grandchildren, Caroline and Henry Montz; her mother of Cedar Falls; and two brothers, Brian Dotson of Pocahontas and Gerald (Pam) Dotson of Sun City West, Ariz.

Preceded in death by her father.

Memorial services will be held in July. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the Western Home Foundation.

Coreen volunteered with IRIS, Friends of the Library, and public schools.
