WATERLOO - Julia Ann “Julie” Barth, 62, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born June 6, 1951, in Waterloo, daughter of William P. and Norma L. Cavanaugh Steimel. She married Donald W. Barth on Nov. 24, 1973, at Blessing Catholic Church, Hudson.

Julie graduated from Hudson High School in 1969 and attended Gates Business College, Waterloo. She was employed by the American Cancer Society for 27 years.

Survived by her husband; a son, Brian (Mark) Rowe-Barth of Waterloo; a daughter, Laura (Jason) Hoodjer of Janesville; two grandsons, Jared and Tyler Hoodjer; her mother of Hudson; and three sisters, Mary Ellen (Mark) Yusko of Cedar Falls, Paula Steimel of Hudson and Kathleen Steimel of Chicago.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, with inurnment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Blessing, at a later date. Visitation from 4 p.m. until services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Julie was a Cubs fan and loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. She was a wonderful wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and watching their sporting events.
