Norma G. Craft, 91, of 1600 50th St, La Porte City, died of natural causes on Sunday, July 11, 2004 at her son's home, a quarter mile south of the home in which she was born.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1912. in Poyner Township, near La Porte City, daughter of Herbert A. and Lora Harmon Christian. In 1930 she married Clyde Craft and they later divorced.

She graduated from La Porte City High School and taught country school. She was a 4-H leader and Farm Bureau member for many years. She loved woodworking, quilting and doing crafts of all sorts.

Survivors include a son, Duane (Joanne) of LaPorte City; a sister, Beulah Klenk of Belle Plaine; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ervin Christian of Waterloo.

Preceded by a daughter, Diane Mether; one sister, Helen Kaler and a grandson, Ted Mether.

Services 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Huisman Funeral Home with burial in West View Cemetery, both of LaPorte City, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.
