CEDAR FALLS - Vincent N. Delagardelle, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born July 12, 1925, in Gilbertville, son of John J. and Irene Huberty Delagardelle. He married Mary Frost on Aug. 22, 1944, in Raymond.

Vincent farmed for 55 years, retiring in 2000, and was a rural fireman for the city of Cedar Falls. He was a 57-year member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and served on the church parish council. He also was a member of Farm Bureau, the Iowa Cattleman’s Association, the Iowa Corn & Soybean Association, and the Black Hawk Soil Conservation Board.

Survived by his wife; two sons, David (Beth) of Waterloo and Wayne of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Anita (Phillip) Destival of Sumner, Marlys (Russ) Fischels of Independence, Annette (Dale) Montross of Dallas and Joy (Jeff) Campbell of Ridgeway; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julius of Gilbertville and Norbert (Mary) of Dunkerton; and two sisters, Donna Lutgen of Kansas City, Mo., and Theresa (Peter) Brustkern of Jesup.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael; a daughter, Jolene Miller; a son-in-law, Dean Miller; and a brother-in-law, Ron Lutgen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with a 7 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family for donation to various church charities.
