Attorney Leo Cohrt Dies at 75

Leo J. Cohrt, 75, of 538 Midlothian Blvd., senior partner in the law firm of Swisher and Cohrt, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are pending at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home where friends may call after, 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Cohrt was born July 29, 1898, at Traer, the son of Theodore F. and Amelia Naureth Cohrt. He married Gertrude Treynor June 28, 1926, at Sioux City. She preceded him in death. He then married Clarice Stanley on June 28, 1934, in Omaha, Neb.

Mr. Cohrt graduated in 1922 from the College of Law, University of Iowa, and joined the firm of Pickett, Swisher and Farwell. At the time of his death he was senior member of the firm of Swisher and Cohrt.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Larry at home and Howard of Fork Union, Va.; and a daughter, Connie Cohrt of Minneapolis, Minn.

Friends who wish may give memorials in his name to the Zion American Lutheran Church.

Mr. Cohrt was admitted to the hospital Sunday morning suffering from chest pains.
