ELK RUN HEIGHTS - May L. Murray, 70, of Elk Run Heights, died Monday, June 5, 2006, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

She was born Jan. 2, 1936, in Oswego, Kan., daughter of Robert and Linnie Pearl White Back. She married Roger W. Murray Sr. on Feb. 12, 1954, in Waterloo. He died April 26, 2006.

Mrs. Murray was a graduate of Waterloo East High School. She had worked for the Waterloo School System as a teacher's associate for 30 years.

Survivors include two sons, Roger and Russ, both of Waterloo; two daughters, Deb Murray of Colorado and Linda (Louis) Ostlie of Jesup; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ray (Judy) Back of Arkansas, Jim (Ginnie) Back of Evansdale, Charlie (Bonnie) Back of Waterloo and Robert Back of Wisconsin; and three sisters, Alice (Mike) Peyton of Waterloo, Mary Ellen Charest of Clear Lake and Maudie (Larry) Syhlman of Wisconsin.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Dorsey Back; and two sisters, Nonabelle Back and Della Capps.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until services Thursday at the chapel.
