June C. Satterlee, 94, of Independence, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a short illness.

She was born July 1, 1912, in Waterloo, daughter of William Henry and Minnie Myrtle Reisinger Stevens. She married Howard Franklin Satterlee Oct. 20, 1933, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He preceded her in death May 11, 2004.

She graduated from the Rowley Consolidated Schools in Rowley in 1930. Mrs. Satterlee farmed with her husband near Rowley and Brandon before moving to Independence in 1970.

Survived by a daughter, Marlene (Ivan) Steinbeck of Independence; two sons, James (Gloria) of Edmond, Okla., and Alan (Carol) of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter; five brothers, Floyd Stevens, Wesley Stevens, Roy Stevens, Elmer Stevens and Claude Stevens; and five sisters, Oril Stevens, Alice Livingston, Bernice Armagost, Helen Henderson and Bessie Jamieson.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, both in Independence. Public visitation after 2 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home, Independence.
