CEDAR FALLS - Orphia Marie Dumler, 97, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 4, 1911, in Paullina, daughter of Charles and Rose Hass Meyer. She married Henry Dumler on July 19, 1937, in Fulda, Minn. He preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1969.

Survived by two sons, Gary L. (Judy) and Dennis D. (Becky), both of Waterloo; a daughter, Sharon K. Bowling of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Meyer; a sister, Arline Podhaski; a son-in-law, Robert L. Bowling; an infant grandson; and an infant great-grandson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mrs. Dumler loved her family, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her flower gardens and always had cookies and coffee ready for anyone who stopped by. Home was very important to her. Orphia was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she had belonged to the Women's Guild.
